MOPP Tape Contact

MOPP Tape, which stands for Monoaxially Oriented Polypropylene Tape, utilizes a monoaxially oriented polypropylene film as its backing. One side is coated with a pressure-sensitive adhesive (typically acrylic or rubber-based), while the opposite side is coated with a release agent or the adhesive layer side undergoes corona treatment.

  Exceptional Dimensional and Thermal Stability

  Under standard conditions (23±2°C, 50±5% RH), its longitudinal (MD) thermal shrinkage is typically less than 1.5%, with high-performance grades achieving below 1.0%. Although not intentionally stretched, its transverse (CD) shrinkage remains significantly lower than conventional films. The monoaxial orientation process aligns the molecular chains into a highly ordered, stable crystalline structure, effectively releasing internal stress. This stable structure exhibits a minimal response to external temperature fluctuations.

  Excellent Weatherability and UV Resistance

  Polypropylene is inherently an inert material. Coupled with its dense crystalline structure, it effectively barriers against oxygen and moisture penetration, preventing adhesive failure due to oxidation or hydrolysis. When treated with UV stabilizers, the stable crystal structure of MOPP film becomes highly resistant to degradation by ultraviolet energy.

  Good Electrical Insulation Properties

  Polypropylene is an excellent insulating material, boasting a volume resistivity of up to 10¹⁶ Ω·cm or higher.
